Wind Power Integration in Ontario (SE-29)
As a result of a number of initiatives to increase renewable energy generation supply in the province, particularly wind power generation, the IESO is seeking stakeholder feedback to:
- Better understand the challenges wind power project proponents face in becoming operational in the Ontario market,
- Assist in reducing barriers to participation in the Ontario market,
- Suggest wind power forecasting options or alternatives.
A working group is being created for those with a special focus on wind generation and would like to be actively engaged in working with the IESO to facilitate the integration of wind power in Ontario.
The working sessions and proposed activities listed below deal with the short issues identified by the working group. The schedule of activities for long term issues will be communicated at a later date.
Please note:
Wind issues are being discussed at the Wind Power Integration in Ontario Standing Committee.
