IESO Releases Earth Hour Conservation Results
March 31, 2012 -
The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) reported that compared to a typical Saturday night in late March, demand for electricity in Ontario was down 2.7 per cent or 423 megawatts (MW) as a result of Earth Hour. This drop is slightly higher than the peak energy needs of a city the size of Burlington.

IESO Releases 18-Month Outlook

Supply adequacy of Ontario's power system will remain robust over the next 18 months, with sufficient resources to meet consumers' needs, said the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) in its latest 18-Month Outlook.

IESO Plans Routine Voltage Reduction Test

The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) is planning a routine voltage reduction test for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 7, 2012. The IESO performs voltage reduction tests every 18 months to simulate emergency actions and measure the load reduction that occurs.
