Feedback on New Stakeholder Engagement Plan for the Maximum Adjustment Period

The IESO is seeking feedback on a new stakeholder engagement plan on the maximum adjustment period for settlement statements (SE-85).  A draft plan and proposal are available on the web at:  www.ieso.ca/imoweb/consult/consult_se85.asp.

A maximum adjustment period defines how far back in time a settlement adjustment will be applied.  Under the current framework, settlement adjustments can go back an unlimited number of years.  The proposal is for the maximum adjustment period to be fixed, for example at one or two years.  All market participants are impacted by this change and the IESO is seeking advice prior to taking a recommendation to the IESO's Senior Management.

The Stakeholder Advisory Committee will be providing comments on the proposal at their October 28 meeting.  Market participants can provide feedback on this proposal to their Advisory Committee sector members.  Contact information for sector members is available at:  www.ieso.ca/imoweb/consult/stakeholder_ac_members.asp.

Comments on the plan can be sent to stakeholder.engagement@ieso.ca by October 30, 2009.

Implementation Schedule for Transmission Rights Auction System Upgrade Now Available

The implementation schedule for the transmission Rights Auction (TRA) system upgrade has been published as part of the revised stakeholder engagement plan: www.ieso.ca/imoweb/pubs/consult/se76/se76-stakeholder-plan_r2.pdf (please refer to Section VIII).  Stakeholders are asked to review and provide comments to stakeholder.engagement@ieso.ca by October 29.

The TRA system is a web-based tool that is accessed by market participants through the IESO Web Portal to perform transmission rights bidding and related activities.  The existing hardware and software technologies used for the TRA system are reaching the end of their lifecycle and need to be upgraded.

More information on the proposed changes is available at:  www.ieso.ca/imoweb/consult/consult_se76.asp.
