Market Participant Login ID for MVweb FTP Access

Currently, market participants use their "Registration Short Name" as the login ID to the MVweb FTP service. The IMO is increasing the MVweb system security resulting in the need to restrict the length of the login ID to 8 characters.
In order to maintain your access to the FTP service with the security patch installed, market participants will be required to use a new login ID for the FTP service that has a maximum of 8 characters. This special login ID will only be used for this FTP service and will not mean a change to the Short Name or how it is used in other systems or reports.
Unless we hear otherwise, we will use the first 8 characters of your current Short Name. If you would like to change your Short Name for the FTP service to something more convenient, please let your Market Relations Representative know before January 9th, 2004.
Once this security patch is implemented on February 28, 2004, market participants will need to use the new Short Name to access the FTP service.
